Overview
A Dencor Series 300C Load Survey System provides billing quality load survey data as
well as time coordinated analog data. The data as well as the data collection setup is
transmitted via telephone or by connecting directly to the serial port of a computer.
Benefits
Makes it easy to implement Advanced Load Surveys Using a Single Instrument. The Series
300C-LS4 monitors two KYZ pulse meter outputs, one current transformer input, and two
temperatures. It also contains four load control relays for load control experiments.
Using this single instrument eliminates the need to coordinate the actions of several
instruments.
Enables Automatic Load Survey Data Collection via Telephone. The Central Station can
call each unit to collect all load profile and analog data. Early analysis of data permits
the identification of problems and permits quick changes in the data gathering protocol.
In case the telephone connection cannot be made, the data can be collected with a laptop.
Provides Graphical Presentation of the Results of Load Aggregation. The Central Station
Software permits all customers to be assigned to groups. The load data for each group can
be aggregated for averaging periods from 5 minutes to an hour. The results of load
aggregation can be viewed or printed in graphic form as well as tabulated summaries.
Coincidence factors for individual to group may be calculated for any averaging
interval (5-minutes, 15-minutes, etc.) and over any period (day, week, month, etc.).
Calculates and Plots Average Diversified Demand as a Function of Time and Temperature.
The time coordination of all demand and temperature data permits the diversified demand to
be calculated for any group of customers using data over any period of time and for
selected days of the week. The result is plotted on a 3-dimensional graph and tabulated as
desired.
Gathers 1-Minute Interval Data for a Detailed Investigation. The 300C gathers one
minute pulse counts when a KYZ input is used. Analog data is collected using one-minute
averages. This one-minute data permits a detailed study of the behavior of loads, such as
air conditioning systems, and their effect upon the load pattern and the cost of providing
service.
Makes it Easy to Test the Impact of Load Control Methods. The 300C-LS4 includes four
control relays which can be used to control loads in order to study the results of various
methods of load control. Many common load control strategies are included in the control
methods included with the 300C-LS4. The status of the load control relays is recorded
every minute so the load demand and relay control status may be compared to determine if
the load is turned off by thermostat action or by load control action.
Additional Features
1. The 300C-LS4 permits the user to select the number of days of data to store for each
data item.. If a specific data item is not needed for a study no memory needs to be used
for that item. This permits great versatility in the gathering of data.
2. Direct and immediate activation or de-activation of control relays in the 300C-LS4
can be done by telephone. This permits special tests to be accomplished easily.
3. The 300C-LS4 can be operated in a real-time mode where the demand and analog
measurements and the relay status are transmitted and a graphic display is updated every 5
seconds. This provides immediate information on operation. The 300C-LS4 continually stores
the last one hour of this data so real-time graphing begins with the immediate past hour
displayed on the window.
